I've never had the Gumbo I will say Everything I've tried was Heavenly. My Favorite is ithe Shrimp and Grits The Ceasar Salad is Devine It's a Win Win♥️
there is valet parking behind the building
Yes, I think it is. They have patio seating which is very nice when the weather is good. The main seating area has a big bar but it's not intrusive
No reservations, but try to go on a night when the weather is nice. Lots more seating on the back balcony than inside. We usually try to snag two seats at the bar, but that doesn't work for larger groups
Yes but only outside
Yes and I agree it is good, not rubbery!
Yes, bowl only 1/2 dozen oysters.
Awesome everything 💓💓💓
Went for Monday night half price peel and eat shrimp, crab cakes, fried pickles, and a side salad. All were high quality (and I am SO picky with my seafood) We got a hot pound for $9 of giant shrimp, The crab cakes were very good quality and more crab than cake (also why I hardly ever order crab cakes unless I know they are good). The patio seating was super nice tonight and the service did it's job. I would actually say this is casual, but no complaints. Parking was easy as well, The wood place next door has a parking lot that is free after 6 pm.
Fresh seafood, great ambiance, fantastic service! An oyster bar in Atlanta with a New Orleans flair, it's a hidden gem! The crab cakes are perfect, meaty and fat, lobster bisque has a hint of sherry and the alfredo is just enough spice to warm ya! This spot is a new fave!
Excellent spot for excellent seafood. The service was great and the food came out quick. Oysters were a little small but very fresh and delicious. The crab legs and shrimp were scrumptios and easily peelable. The lobster bisque was on point, very creamy and full of lobster and little filler. The crab cakes had a small amount of filler so they weren't "true" maryland crab cakes, but I would order them again. Highly recommend Fontaine's. I am normally a picture poster but the food looked too good to not eat first. Here is a pic I snapped after the deluge of peeling ensued. We will definitely be taking the trip from Macon to eat here more often!
Oysters were amazing but super expensive ($30+ a dozen for most options). Gumbo was delish. Def have to come back here on a happy hour day.
The food was delicious (fresh and hot)! I had lobster bisque and po boy. Husband had gumbo and shrimp and grits. Our waiter was a very lovely gentleman. Classic rock, which I love, was playing. I saw one of the waitresses biting her nails. While we were eating, there were gnats flying around. When we departed nobody said goodbye or thanked us for coming.
Hibiscus margarita and oysters hit the spot. I will return
What a wonderful little seafood place! Great raw oysters, giant peel and eat shrimp, excellent grilled and blackened fish, and the best sweet potato fries I've ever tried (and I'm usually not a huge sweet potato person). Friendly waiters and great service. Just wonderful!
Food was delicious, service was on point and the atmosphere was great and laid back... and all at a reasonable price point for seafood!! Even the drinks were superb!! I WILL be returning!!
Oysters weren't up to the standards pre covid, but it was still 5 start experience!
Much better experience! Today had a fun energetic crowd! We had the oysters on a half shell ( in which I ate a dozen!) And we ordered the $10 crawfish boil which were obviously reboiled😕! But kudos to the chef for accepting the constructive criticism and remaking them fresh for us! The service was very good and I had a 😋delicious $5 Fat Tuesday drink that I forgot the name of! 😁😁 We will definitely be back! #Tuesday date nights
The food is a five star but the manager Brent or brad or whatever is not a good manager. I had an issue and his attitude was horrible so that’s why the low rating. Waitress was good.
Good food and I love the outdoor space
Great food, great service. Back patio can get a little warm.
I’ve been here several times for their happy hour on Tuesdays. The dozen of oysters for $10 are always freshly shucked and tasty. The bisque and calamari are also another one of my favorites. They also have a great selection of beers.
Great spot to have a drink and grab a bite. Bar tenders are great and super friendly. Can't speak much about the food I'll I've had was the Alfredo but it was delicious. Check the place out.
A place with steamed oysters! We were so excited to see them on the menu. It is a quirky place, with a beautiful bar and awesome outdoor seating. We really enjoyed eating at the bar and watching them shuck some oysters. The lobster bisque and lobster roll are delicious. Oysters are very good as well!
Oh... my... oyster! This place was amazing!!! The atmosphere, space, beverages, and food were all so very great. The Nola... oysters... I can't rave about them enough. I'm not an oyster fan, but I would devour a hundred of these! I hate that I can't remember the server's name (tall, brunette, pierced ears), but he was so very nice and attentive. So nice that I would've bought him a drink! I will definitely be returning.
This is one of my favorite places to take my family. They have the best peel and eat shrimp, lobster bisk, calamari, oysters and many more. The prices are reasonable. The drinks are well made.
Great food but they kicked us out for no reason it was about 2:15 we were halfway through our meal and a bottle of wine and we were told we had to leave because the eatery was closing down for a few hours. On top of that our waitress tried to finesse me out of 20 dollars. We were the only patrons in the eatery two young black men and we had to leave halfway through our meal
Service was awesome only thing my oysters Rockefeller small and cold jumbo was non spice but I love the atmosphere and social sitting distancing they have.
Great Seafood Spot! Not a huge fan of oysters but many in our group who enjoy oysters said they were delicious. All their other seafood was fresh and delicious.
Wanted to try places in the city that serves fresh and cooked oysters, however I was a bit underwhelmed. The NOLA oysters are the best ones all around, didn't care for the Rockefeller oysters as they put pesto in the mix which didn't taste good. There are specials on the steamed shrimp on Mondays, you get a decent bit for a half pound which was $5 but the shrimp were bland. Not much taste to the shrimp at all which sucked. However, the customer service was excellent and the place has a very cool New Orleans theme going.
The waiter/server was not friendly or welcoming. For appetizers, we ordered an item called rice balls. I thought they would be similar to a boudain ball since the menu consisted of Cajun and seafood items. However, they appeared as meatballs with a sauce the tasted like can tomato sauce. Then, he brought out the suppose to be chicken fettuccine Alfredo and red beans/rice with sausage. The chicken did not taste fresh or real. The restaurant/bar is over rated with food, ambiance, and cleanliness. I was disappointed with the service, food, and price. Needless to say, a waste of time and money. A fast food restaurant would have been a better choice.
The best FOOD...My favorite are the OYSTERS-OMGGGGG!!! "Got da love 'em !!!"
The food, the service —everything was top notch. My boyfriend and I started off with a calamari appetizer and then finished with oyster stew and blackened jumbo shrimp with sausage as a side. Everything on both plates was eaten and excellent. If you are looking for a chill seafood spot that won’t cost you your whole paycheck, you cannot go wrong with Fontaine’s.
These are the best oysters I have ever had. They are very well prepared. I have had over 15 items off the menu but fried and half shells are to die for
Me and my husband’s favorite restaurant...Food is always Delicious... Fontaine’s is the Best seafood in town...Thank you guys for the consistency
A nice relaxed environment with a covered patio and excellent raw bar
Great Tavern / a Oyster house in the heart of Virginia Highlands. This New Orleans infused restaurant is a great place to hang and get your Nola fix. The atmosphere is wonderful and the service is great. I started with the chargrilled “NOLA” style oysters and they were very good... Followed by blackened catfish and fried okra which was spot-on.Great place with a nice bar, indoor and outdoor balcony seating.
Great location. Great food. You can sit inside, outside or at the bar. They have a mini private room. Our server was okay. She could have had a better attitude.
We had 9 people and we were celebrating 2 birthdays. The server was personable, efficient and very attentive. The food was excellent with everyone enjoying their meal. Three of us got low country boil and could not have enjoyed it any more. We all had drinks. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good seafood in Atlanta/Virginia-Highlands.
Super hard to find oysters in Atlanta period let alone good ones. Had been wanting to try Fontaine's for a while and finally got the chance. The raw oysters were great quality and the new Orleans style ones were pretty good too. Definitely go raw if you're into that sorta thing ;). Dope beer and wine selection along with being open late makes it a nice place to chill and enjoy good drinks and food with friends. Five stars well deserved.
You'll have to find parking on the street, which can be tricky. But, when you arrive you'll be greeted by friendly staff and a casual atmosphere. The outside patio is a lovely place to enjoy a cold drink and their excellent sea food! The house oysters are great, and the low country boil is enough for two! I highly recommend Fontaine's if you're looking for great see food in town.
At the first moment you come to this restaurant the waiters give you a great feeling. Very courteous waiters, it is a lovely place to enjoy with buddies or with your date. Great cuisine, specialist chef, modest price and professional service. Warmly recommended.
Oyster Sampler & Cajun Rice Balls were EXCELLENT! The Fried Catfish was a little undercooked but overall it was a great experience bc the Bartender ROME was PHENOMENAL.
Menu is a limited for obvious reasons but service was lightning fast
Best crab cakes I've ever had! However, crablegs are a bit pricey, But that's okay because the cocktail was perfect and I had a amazing server...thanks Rod. Very fun low-key place with complementary parking. Will definitely come back.
Their food and drinks are wonderful!!! Their table service is terrible though. Our waitress was always flying by us like she was super busy. She was pleasant but barely gave us the time of day. We had to yell as she was flying by us when we needed something. The first time we went we sat at the bar and had great service there. This time we went for dinner so we wanted to enjoy our meal at a table where we had plenty of room for our food and didn't feel cramped. I highly recommend trying this restaurant, go in with the mindset you're going for the food not the service.
Loved their 20th birthday event the deals were awesome and the oysters were great. Also the fried okra was delicious! I would definitely recommend that you check it out next time your in the area!
The food and service was superb!!! Excellent!!!
What a fantastic neighborhood restaurant. We enjoy the Tuesday oyster special. But my favorite is the rice balls. So flavorful. A must try. The cocktails are fabulous. Well made. The lobster bisque is really good, just give it a dash of hot sauce. They have a huge balcony for outdoor dining. If you are in the area you should try it. We enjoy taking out of town guests there.
2 words Highland Tap. Next door downstairs nice vibe. Skip this place! I would give them a 0 if I could. 8/4/2019 we walk in and it’s a warm evening and I am finishing a bottle of water. And I was stopped by the host or whoever he is and told no outside beverages. Mind you the place is empty and we came for oysters and drinks. So they would rather you not bring in a Bottle of water with 8 oz remaining and turn away paying customers. Horrible customer experience. I did not get mad I was totally cordial but we left. What kind of establishment is it really? More workers than customers. Money monger 1000. Customer service 0.
Awesome service great food and drinks. Thank you Daniel our waiter you rock!
wow such great seafood we tried the Calamari and shrimp cold with house sauce...both came quick were fresh and delicious....enjoyed with some great cold beers!!
Lobster Roll was AMAZING!!! Everyone enjoyed their food.
Great food!! Friendly staff! I have tried their crab legs (1/2 off on Wednesdays), blackened pasta, scallop roll, lobster bisque soup, and some other dishes and it has all been great so far. will be visiting again soon.
Ate oysters for the first time. Love oysters for the rest of my life. Also had a lobstah roll and DANG it was so good. My whole life is better after eating here.
Great spot for a date, the patio is very cozy. The food and drinks are always on point as well. Crab legs are half price on Wednesday, you can't beat it!
Always great seafood. Jennifer waited our table this time and she was great. Knows the food and fun to chat with. I'll keep going back.
I don't eat oysters like that but they were 1/2 off on Tuesdays! Sat at the bar and would have had a beer but they only had dark strong brews. Female bartender was not very friendly and not very attentive...no water no conversations...at least for us "brown" people....she seemed very chatty to all others though.🤷 Just the vibe we got
